Disaster response plan.
The Town of Creston is committed to providing leadership and guidelines to meet the challenges associated with emergency management. This includes preparation and planning to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of its citizens, and to provide effective response and recovery. With this in mind, the Town has developed a Disaster Response Plan.
The plan
The Disaster Response Plan has been prepared to provide guiding principles to municipal staff when planning for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies and disasters.
The Town of Creston has adopted the principles of the British Columbia Emergency Response Management Systems (BCERMS) for its Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) operations. The response goals of BCERMS and the EOC in priority order are as follows:
- Provide for the health and safety of all responders
- Save lives
- Reduce suffering
- Protect public health
- Protect government infrastructure
- Protect property
- Protect the environment
- Reduce economic and social losses
